If you take a litmus paper and dip it in the solution if it is a base it will turn to blue and if it is acid it will turn to red ...
Hope it helps you my friend
concept of wave mechanics: -
when a stone is dropped in water it produced waves.
and wave is know as transverse wave.
there is two types of waves : -
transverse wave : - the wave in the motion of the particle of the system is perpendicular to the direction of propagation of wave.
ex : - wave produced in water.
light waves, radio waves.
longitudinal waves : - the waves in the motion of the particle of the system is parallel to the direction of propagation of wave.
ex : - sound waves, infrasonic waves.
some more info : -
transverse waves is also categorized as : -
electromagnetic waves : -
the waves produces magnetic and electric field perpendicular to the direction of propagation of wave is known as electromagnetic waves.
such as : -
light waves, gamma waves, x - rays.
the most penetrating wave is gamma waves.
having very large frequency and small wavelength.
light wave is also an electromagnetic waves having wavelength up to 400 nm to 700 nm.
violet has smaller wavelength 400 nm
red has larger wavelength 700 nm.
relation between frequency, wavelength and velocity of waves.
where v is velocity of waves, n is frequency and λ is wavelength.
