Seasonal hunger is the hunger that cycles around the harvest and sowing season of seasonal activities Like- agriculture. Seasonal hunger is found in rural areas in some cases, in urban areas also.
Chronic hunger is the hunger that results due to diets persistently inadequate in the quality/quantity or both. chronic hunger is found generally In urban areas.
Difference between seasonal hunger and chronic hunger are:
SEASONAL HUNGER :
It refers to the cycle of food growing and harvesting.
People in rural areas suffer from seasonal hunger because of seasonal nature.
People of urban area suffer from seasonal hunger because of casual labour.
chronic hunger is a consequence of diets persistently inadequate in terms of quantity and quality.
Poor people suffer from chronic hunger because of low income.
As they have low income, they cannot buy food.

Food insecurity is another problem which is quite eminent in India. One of the aspects of food insecurity is hunger. There are two types of hunger - chronic hunger and seasonal hunger.
● Result of diets which are continuously inadequate both in terms of quality as well as quantity.
● Caused due to low income in the inability to buy food.
● Occurs when a community is not able to fulfil their own basic needs.
● It goes on for long and may even lead to death.
● Result of cycles of food growing and harvesting
● Caused due to seasonal nature of agricultural activities in rural areas and because of casual labour who gets work according to environmental seasons in urban areas.
● Occurs only in certain times of the year.
● It goes on year after year.

Chronic Hunger: A person who does not find food all through out the year is called chronic hunger. This is commonly seen in people who are unemployed.
Seasonal Hunger : a person who forced to stay hunger due to inability to procure the necessary food. this can be seen in people who are seasonally unemployed.
1) It is a long-term hunger.
2)People when not able to attain a proper diet with adequate quantity and quality is said suffer from a chronic hunger.
3)People likely to suffer this are the ones having very low income to even buy enough food for their survival.

Chronic hunger is a constant state while seasonal hunger might only last for a few months.
